Special Message

A message from The Townwide Fund

Dear Huntington Community Members:

Since our world was turned upside down, we have been touched by the dedication and commitment of our healthcare and essential workers who navigate the unbelievable challenges that life presents, for the good of others. We are also amazed by the charitable compassion of “everyday” people who have stepped up to help in extraordinary ways.

The Townwide Fund’s Board of Directors are proud to be residents of Huntington, and of New York State. We remain in touch with area nonprofits, talking with Fund’s supporters, and responding to the ever-changing needs of our community.

The Fund has made several emergency grants to area nonprofits that reached out for help.

Some of the grants awarded include:

    • For the YMCA, support to provide childcare to healthcare workers and first responders;

    • An emergency grant for Tri-CYA so local parents can buy groceries for children who otherwise get most of their meals at school; and

    • Helping Family Service League provide shelter to homeless people who have tested positive for COVID-19 at Huntington Hospital, but are not sick enough to need to stay in the hospital.

    • An emergency grant to Helping Hands Mission to restock the Pantry shelves

The Townwide Fund relies on the generosity of fellow Huntingtonians and our collective sense of community. We know that of the past several weeks that circumstances have changed for many of us, but we ask that if you are able to help, even a small amount, that you please make a donation to the Townwide Fund.

Stay safe, stay healthy and stay in touch with us as, together, we navigate these difficult times.
